THE PEOPLE OF HOMER GLEN AGAINST HIGH DENSITY A R Y A

The mayor and her favorite developer Boris can't keep their lies straight. First Boris says that he will never allow section 8 housing, at the proposed mixed use ARYA, then the mayor says that the village cannot stop section 8 housing once the development is built. Simply put, the condos are for sale, but anybody can buy them and then rent them out to section 8 residents and there is nothing that anybody can do to stop it...
Mayor Christina Neitzke-Troike giving smug responses to Twin Lakes residents after they tell her that in fact the residents will be exposed to and see the development from their subdivision. Troike responds to them like a spoiled teenager basically telling them what they can see and not see. A concerned Twin Lakes resident then states that she is concerned that once this development site is rezoned and is passed, the land next door will also become another massive high density project. Mayor Neitzke-Troike then proceeds to lie to the resident telling them that the village cannot control what is put in that lot because they do not own the land. That is a bold faced lie. The Village can control what happens with both projects as they control the zoning.. Mixed use developments currently are not permitted by law in that area as they are not zoned for that. They are currently zoned for business, not residences. Hey Mayor CNT, we are not stupid and stop treating the residents like gullible children. .
The ARYA developer Boris Predovich finally admits that this development may contain rentals and there is nothing that the Village can do about it once approved. Boris sugar coats it by saying that the rental cost and fees will be high but we all know what will happen if these units do NOT sell... Again, the mayor and the developer are in cahoots and they think that the residents of Homer Glen are gullible and stupid. Secret meetings and agreements have been made. Envelopes have been passed. The fix is in! We must stand up against this project and protect Twin Lakes, Country Woods and Homer Glen.
This resident brings up the severe deficiencies that the ARYA project will have regarding the Village of Homer Glen's long standing Tree ordinances.
A long-time resident speaks on behalf of Margaret Sabo who was one of the founding forces of Homer Glen. Homer Glen was incorporated with Community and Nature in Harmony. It was specifically founded so that Lockport would not absorb this part of Homer Township and do to it what is being done now. Mayor Christina Neitzke-Troke is destroying our community and so is Trustee Michael Lepore. The Mayor's Board consists of 2 real Estate Agents whose main concern is selling out Homer Glen not preserving its rural charm. Those 2 individuals are Michael Lepore and Robert Schaller. (FYI) Michael Lepore is also running for Will County Board, let's not forget what he is doing to our village when you VOTE.
Mayor Christina Neitzke Troike berates a resident and balks at her claims of the eminent danger brought on by through traffic from speeding cars cutting through the Twin lakes subdivision to get back and forth to the ARYA development from Will Cook Rd to 159th. Trustee Curt Mason also jumps on the mayor's bandwagon refuting the residents claims like she has no idea what she's talking about. It is obvious the board does not care about the residents' concerns. Another resident asks the mayor why she wants to push this project into such a condensed area, the mayor has no response....
Twins Lakes resident tells Mayor CNT that changing the zoning to allow this High-density development will drastically effect Homer Glen in the long term and will open the flood gates for other high-density developments. She then pleads with the board to say NO to the ARYA development. Mayor CNT seems unphased with the resident's plea.
Once again, Mayor Christina Neitzke-Troike’s public statements do not align with the official record.
In December 2022, a proposal for ARYA, a 15-acre commercial and high-density residential rental development, was presented during a Village of Homer Glen board meeting.
The board members present at that meeting included:
During this meeting, ARYA representatives initially described the project as mixed use commercial leases & condominiums for sale. However, after one ARYA representative—inadvertently referenced apartment rentals, the board responded with immediate and clear pushback.
Board members stated plainly that high-density rental apartments were not acceptable, particularly without extensive resident input and further review. The tone and substance of the discussion make it evident that the board was not prepared to approve such a project, nor willing to proceed under the terms described.
Notably, during that same meeting, Boris stated on the record that he would not pursue any development in Homer Glen unless it was a rental property.
This December 2022 meeting was the only public meeting held on ARYA before the current board began considering the project again in 2026.
Contrary to current claims by Mayor Christina Neitzke-Troike, the ARYA development was never approved, never rezoned, and never granted entitlement by the 2022 board. The official meeting record shows the opposite: clear resistance, unresolved concerns, and no authorization to proceed.
This video presents the original meeting footage and public record so viewers can see for themselves what was said, what was not approved, and how those facts compare to statements being made today.
The record matters. Transparency matters. Residents deserve the truth
